I have one of the final preliminary studies for this painting. In itself, an extremely important work and is consistent in every aspect with Roy’s process. The paper, size, age, water based paint, ink and initials match similar works in the Lichtenstein Foundations own archive.
This offset print was used to advertise an exhibition of original Picasso lithographs (circa 1946) at Gallerie Beyeler in Paris. These were signed by Pablo Picasso and handed to select clients as a promotional tool. I have two of these prints and are available for the novelty value of an original signature promoting the post WW2 exhibition.
I encourage you to view these insights to help you with your research and hopefully create an informed perspective of my collection.
